“The solution to our problem with technology will ultimately be found in a more democratic and egalitarian society and world...the challenge before us is thus a political one: the struggle for social and economic justice to ensure that technology serves the common good, rather than the few, the interests of profit, or mindless efficiency.” –Eileen B. | As women we are obligated disrupt the static model of power and technology that has been sold to us. Through hardcore advertising, we have been tricked to believe that technology facilitates our lives and benefits our general personas. In order to eliminate popular homogeneous ideas, we must view and assert power in different terms (education is key). Furthermore, we must eradicate broken promises and reject the reality that men dominate the products of consumer culture. Needless to say, we must assume our own ideas and discover our own power. |
